  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure your butter is softened to room temperature for better mixing.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Don’t overmix the dough once you add the flour to keep the cookies tender.
  • 1 cup chopped pecans You can use any chopped nuts you like.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until well combined.
  • Fold in the chopped pecans.

Baking

  • Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
