  • 4 pieces Chicken cutlets The star of the show! Tender and soak up flavors beautifully.
  • 2 cups French onion gravy Store-bought works great, but homemade is a wonderful touch.
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese Offers a salty and nutty flavor.
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese Melts beautifully for a delicious creaminess.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley For garnish, adding freshness and color.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Essential for elevating flavors.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil or butter Foundation for cooking the chicken; use butter for a rich flavor.

Preparation

  • Season the chicken cutlets with salt and pepper just before cooking.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the seasoned chicken cutlets in a single layer and cook undisturbed for about 4-5 minutes until browned.
  • Flip the chicken and cook for another 4-5 minutes until cooked through.
  • Remove the chicken and cover with foil to keep warm.
  • In the same skillet, add the French onion gravy and deglaze the pan if necessary.
  • Let the gravy simmer for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the chicken back into the skillet, spooning some gravy over each piece.
  • Layer the Swiss and Parmesan cheese over the chicken and cover the skillet to melt.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For a thicker gravy, let it reduce longer. Leftover gravy can enhance the dish when reheating.
