Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 head Cabbage, chopped
  • 1 Onion, sliced
  • 4 slices Bacon, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

Cooking

  • Start by heating a large skillet over medium heat. Place the chopped bacon in the skillet and cook until crispy.
  • Once the bacon is crispy, remove it from the skillet and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to soak up excess grease.
  • In the same skillet, add the butter and sliced onion. Cook for 3-5 minutes until the onions become soft and translucent.
  • Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet with the onions and mix well.
  • Cook the cabbage for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until it becomes tender but still slightly crunchy.
  • Season the cabbage with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Stir in the crispy bacon and let everything heat through for another minute or two.
  • Serve the Fried Cabbage as a side dish or make it the main attraction with some crusty bread.

Notes

For a lighter option, try turkey bacon or add fresh herbs such as rosemary. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3 days.
