Preparation

  • Gather your ingredients: Make sure you have all your ingredients prepped and ready.

Cooking

  • Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, until crispy.
  • Remove and crumble the bacon on a paper towel to drain, saving the bacon grease.
  • Add the butter to the skillet with the bacon drippings and melt.
  • Sauté the sliced onions in the melted butter for about 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  • Stir in the chopped cabbage and mix to coat with the bacon and butter.
  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings, stirring occasionally.
  • Cook for 10-15 minutes until the cabbage is tender and caramelized.
  • Crumble the cooked bacon back into the skillet and mix through the cabbage.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  • Serve hot in a bowl and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure the bacon is crispy for texture. Stir occasionally, but let the cabbage brown for flavor. Taste as you go and adjust salt and seasonings as preferred.
