Ingredients
  

For the Mozzarella Sticks

  • 2 packages 16-ounce mozzarella cheese sticks Cut in half if desired.
  • 4 large eggs, beaten to blend
  • 1.5 cups vegetable oil For frying.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs For coating.

Preparation

  • Cut the mozzarella cheese sticks in half if desired.
  • Set up a breading station: place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third bowl.

Breading

  • Dip each cheese stick in flour, then in egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs, ensuring they are fully covered.

Frying

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until hot.
  • Fry the cheese sticks in batches until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
  • Remove the fried sticks and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Serving

  • Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping, or your favorite sauces.

Notes

If you have leftovers, cool them completely and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C). For extra flavor, add spices to the breadcrumbs and for a thicker crust, repeat the breading process.
