  • 1 lb sea scallops, cleaned and patted dry Make sure to clean the scallops well before baking.
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice A squeeze of fresh lemon on top adds a nice touch.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, and lemon juice.

Cooking

  • Place the scallops in a baking dish and pour the garlic butter mixture over them.
  • Bake the scallops for about 10-12 minutes or until they are opaque and cooked through.
  • Serve warm, garnished with parsley if desired.

Notes

If you have leftovers, let the scallops cool completely, then place them in an airtight container. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. When reheating, do so gently in the oven to avoid overcooking. Avoid overcooking the scallops; they should be opaque and firm when done. For a bit of heat, add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mixture.
