Ingredients

For the Mashed Potatoes

  • 2 lbs 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed Create a comforting side.
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup milk Adds creaminess.
  • 4 tablespoons 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Makes the mash irresistible.

Instructions
 

Preparation of Mashed Potatoes

  • Peel and cube the potatoes.
  • Place them in a large pot, cover with cold water, and add a pinch of salt.
  • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  • Once boiling, reduce heat and let simmer until tender, about 15 minutes.
  • Drain, return to the pot, and add milk and 4 tablespoons of butter. Mash until smooth.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cooking the Steak Bites

  • In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the sirloin steak in a single layer, cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • Reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic, thyme, and rosemary. Stir constantly for about a minute.
  • Add 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter to the pan and toss the steak bites until well coated.
  • Finish with salt and pepper to taste, then remove from heat.

Serving

  • Scoop creamy mashed potatoes onto each plate and top with garlic butter steak bites.

Notes

Use hot milk for creamy mash; don’t flip steak bites too often for a perfect sear. Fresh herbs enhance flavor significantly.
