  • 1 pound Green beans Fresh green beans provide the best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil Use extra virgin olive oil for enhanced flavor.
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced Freshly minced garlic is recommended.
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated Feel free to add more if you love cheese!
  • to taste Salt Adjust according to preference.
  • to taste Pepper Freshly ground black pepper works best.

Preparation

  • Trim the ends off the green beans.

Blanching

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the green beans. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.

Ice Bath

  • Drain the beans and immediately plunge them into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.

Sautéing the Garlic

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds to a minute.

Tossing the Green Beans

  • Add the drained green beans to the skillet with garlic oil and toss to combine.

Seasoning

  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Finishing Touches with Parmesan

  • Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese over the green beans and toss gently.

Serving

  • Serve warm on a beautiful dish.

Notes

Add a pinch of fresh rosemary or thyme for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
