For the Toasts

  • 4 slices bread Use sourdough or your favorite hearty bread.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Provides gooey, melty goodness.
  • Fresh parsley For garnish.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about one minute until fragrant.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for about 5-6 minutes until tender.
  • Season the mixture with dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  • Place the slices of bread on a baking sheet.
  • Distribute the mushroom-garlic mixture over the bread slices.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of each toast.
  • Bake for about 8-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For a perfect crispy top, consider broiling the toasts for the last minute of baking. These toasts are delicious on their own or served with a side salad or bowl of soup.
