Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 large head large head of lettuce (butter lettuce or romaine)
  • 4 cloves cloves garlic, thinly sliced

Sauces and Oils

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

Seasonings

  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 pinch sugar (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Wash the lettuce thoroughly and separate the leaves. If the leaves are large, cut them in half or into smaller pieces.

Stir-frying

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant and lightly golden.
  • Add the lettuce leaves to the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, or until the lettuce is wilted but still slightly crisp.
  • Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil (if using), white pepper, and sugar (if using). Stir-fry for another minute.

Serving

  • Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

This dish is best eaten fresh. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge and should be consumed within a day. Reheat quickly for best results.
