Preparation

  • Wash the fresh green beans thoroughly and trim the ends.
  • Bring a pot of salted water to a rolling boil.
  • Cook the beans for about 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  • Quickly drain the beans and transfer them to an ice bath to halt cooking.

Cooking

  • In a medium skillet over medium heat, toast the almonds until golden brown.
  • Add a splash of olive oil or butter, then sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  • Combine the blanched green beans with the garlic and oil in the skillet.
  • Drizzle with lemon juice and season with salt and pepper.
  • Add the toasted almonds and gently toss to combine.

Notes
