Ingredients
  

For the filling

  • 1 pound Ground pork
  • 4 pieces Green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, grated
  • 1 cup Cabbage, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil Enhances flavor

For assembly and cooking

  • 1 package Gyoza wrappers
  • as needed Water For sealing
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil For frying

Instructions
 

Preparation of Filling

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped cabbage. Mix thoroughly.

Add Flavor

  • Drizzle soy sauce and sesame oil over the filling and stir until evenly incorporated.

Assemble the Gyoza

  • Take a gyoza wrapper and place it in your palm. Scoop about a tablespoon of filling into the center.

Seal the Gyoza

  • Moisten the edges of the gyoza wrapper with water, fold over the filling, and pinch the edges to seal tightly.

Repeat Process

  • Continue the assembly until all filling is used, reinforcing seals as needed.

Cook the Gyoza

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Place gyoza in the skillet without touching and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned on the bottom.

Steam the Gyoza

  • Add ½ cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately. Let steam for about 5 minutes.

Crisp Again

  • Remove the lid and cook for another minute or two until gyoza are crispy once more.

Serve

  • Transfer gyoza to a serving plate, best enjoyed hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding mushrooms or carrots to the filling. Store any leftover gyoza in an airtight container in the fridge.
