Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups finely chopped ham The star of the dish! Leftover ham works perfectly.
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions Adds a bit of crunch and mild sharpness.
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped celery For a fresh and crispy texture.
  • 2 tablespoons sweet relish Balances the flavors with a hint of sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon dill weed Gives a mild herby taste.
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise Makes the salad creamy and rich.
  • 1 tablespoon mustard Adds a tangy kick! You can use yellow or Dijon.

Optional Add-ins

  • hard-boiled eggs (chopped) Adds extra creaminess and protein.
  • a splash of lemon juice Brightens up the flavors.
  • black pepper or paprika For an extra layer of seasoning.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped ham, onions, celery, sweet relish, dill weed, mayonnaise, and mustard.
  • Using a spoon or spatula, mix everything until all the ingredients are well combined and coated in the creamy dressing.
  • For the best flavor, cover the bowl and let the salad chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. This allows the flavors to blend beautifully.
  • Serve the ham salad on bread, with crackers, or as a dip. It’s delicious in sandwiches, wraps, or even on a bed of lettuce for a low-carb option.

Notes

Great for meal prep; stays fresh in the fridge for several days. A fantastic way to use up extra ham. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Do not freeze.
