Preparation

  • Crack your eggs into a large bowl and whisk in the granulated sugar until the mixture is light and frothy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Gradually whisk in the whole milk and heavy cream until well combined.
  • Add in the vanilla extract and ground nutmeg, stirring well to combine.
  • If using, mix in the bourbon or rum, and stir until combined.
  • Pour the mixture into a pitcher and refrigerate for at least one hour.
  • Serve in festive glasses and garnish with a sprinkle of nutmeg.

Notes

Use fresh eggs for better flavor. Don’t skip the chilling step for enhanced taste. Garnish generously with nutmeg for a beautiful presentation.
