For Serving

  • 1-2 green onions, sliced Adds freshness and color.

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Whisk until blended.
  • Toss the chicken breast pieces into the flour mixture, coating them evenly.

Cooking

  • In a deep skillet or pan, pour in the oil and heat it over medium-high heat until ready.
  • Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil and fry for about 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Remove the chicken and let it drain on paper towels.
  • In a separate pan, combine honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic; heat until simmering.
  • Toss the fried chicken pieces into the sauce, coating them until covered.

Serving

  • Plate the chicken over cooked rice, ramen, or udon noodles.
  • Sprinkle with freshly sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

For ultimate crispiness, consider double-dipping the chicken. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicier kick. Allow chicken to rest after frying to retain juices. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and kept for up to 3 days.
