Main Ingredients

  • 3 lbs Beef roast Chuck roast is recommended for best flavor.
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1 packet Italian dressing mix
  • 1 jar Pepperoncini About 12-15 peppers.

Assembly Ingredients

  • As needed Hoagie rolls Use fresh rolls for the best texture.
  • As needed Sliced cheese (Provolone or mozzarella) For topping.
  • Optional Pickled vegetables For added flavor.
  • Optional Mashed potatoes For serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Prepare your crock pot by preheating it to low.
  • Place the beef roast inside the crock pot.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the beef broth and Italian dressing mix, stirring well.
  • Pour the mixture over the roast, ensuring it is well-covered.
  • Add the pepperoncini.

Cooking

  • Cover the crock pot with its lid and cook on low for about 8 hours.
  • After cooking, use two forks to shred the beef, mixing in the juices.

Serving

  • Prepare hoagie rolls by warming them if desired.
  • Assemble the sandwiches by mounding the shredded beef onto the rolls and topping with sliced cheese.
  • If desired, broil the sandwiches for a minute to melt the cheese.
  • Add optional pickled vegetables and serve warm alongside mashed potatoes.

Notes

For an extra depth of flavor, you can add a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the broth mixture. Optionally, toss in red pepper flakes for added spice.
