Pasta Ingredients

  • 200 g spaghetti or pasta of your choice Spaghetti is traditional but any pasta works.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced More garlic enhances flavor.
  • 1/4 cup olive oil Use high-quality olive oil for best results.
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes Adjust to taste for spice level.
  • to taste salt Enhances all flavors.
  • for garnish fresh parsley, chopped Adds freshness.
  • optional grated Parmesan cheese Adds a creamy finish.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Pasta

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Test it a minute or two earlier.
  • Drain the pasta and set aside, do not rinse.

Preparing the Sauce

  • In a large skillet, heat 1/4 cup of olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until golden and fragrant.
  • Sprinkle in 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes and let bloom for about 30 seconds.

Combining

  • Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the oil and garlic.
  • Season with salt to taste, mixing well.
  • Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and toss again.
  • Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat on the stove with a splash of olive oil or water.
