Ingredients
  

For the crust

  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.25 cups granulated sugar

For the filling

  • 3 cups sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cups key lime juice
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 2 Zest of key limes Zest from 2 key limes for extra flavor.

For serving

  • Whipped cream For topping.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar until well combined. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a pie dish.
  • Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden. Let it cool.

Filling

  • In another bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, egg yolks, and lime zest until smooth.
  • Pour the filling into the cooled crust.
  • Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until just set.
  • Remove from the oven, allow to cool, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.

Notes

Serve key lime pie chilled with whipped cream. For a pop of color, garnish with thin slices of key lime or additional lime zest. Store in the refrigerator for up to four days. Can be frozen for up to a month.
