Ingredients
  

For the Crust

  • 1 1/2 cups Graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup Granulated sugar

For the Filling

  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 3/4 cup fresh key lime juice Fresh key limes are preferred.
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest Important for flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • to taste Whipped cream For serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix together graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar until well combined.
  • Firmly press the graham cracker mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan.
  • Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes until set and lightly golden. Allow to cool completely.

Make the Filling

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, lime zest, and salt until smooth.
  • Pour the filling into the cooled crust.

Baking

  • Return the pie to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.
  • Remove the pie and allow it to cool at room temperature.
  • Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.

Serving

  • Serve with whipped cream on top.

Notes

For best results, always use fresh ingredients. Let the pie chill in the fridge for at least 3 hours before serving for the best texture.
