  • 1 pound Chicken breast Cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup Bell peppers, chopped Use various colors for visual appeal
  • 0.5 cup Green onions, chopped
  • 0.5 cup Peanuts Roasted for added flavor

Marinade

  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Cornstarch

Flavor Enhancers

  • 2 tablespoons Sesame oil For cooking
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, minced Add more for extra flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch.
  • Toss the chicken in the marinade, ensuring it is well-coated, and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Chop the bell peppers and slice the green onions.

Cooking

  • Heat the sesame oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry until cooked through and golden brown, about 5–7 minutes.
  • Add the bell peppers and garlic, stir-frying for another 3–4 minutes.
  • Mix in the peanuts and stir to combine.
  • Prepare a small bowl with additional soy sauce, sugar, and minced ginger, then pour this over the chicken and veggies.
  • Stir everything together for another 2 minutes until well-coated.

Serving

  • Serve the Kung Pao Chicken over steamed rice and enjoy!

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle sesame seeds when serving. Adjust spice level with red pepper flakes if desired. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
