Ingredients
  

Cherry Mixture

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for mixing with cherries

Batter

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar remaining sugar for the batter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, combine the cherries with 1/2 cup of sugar and set them aside.
  • In another bowl, mix the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, milk, flour, baking powder, and salt until smooth.

Assembly

  • Pour the melted butter into a baking dish.
  • Pour the batter over the butter, being careful not to stir it.
  • Evenly spread the cherry mixture on top of the batter.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the cobbler is golden brown.
  • Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of ice cream.

Notes

To store, cover with plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Refrigerate for up to 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months. Make sure to pit the cherries properly and adjust sugar based on cherry sweetness. Consider mixing in cinnamon or almond extract for added flavor. You can also try adding other fruits like blueberries or peaches for variations.
