Cobbler Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Essential for the structure and texture.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Adds sweetness to the cobbler.
  • 1 cup milk Provides moisture and richness.
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Gives a delightful buttery flavor.
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder Crucial for making the cobbler rise.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances all the flavors.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds warmth and depth.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Pour the cherry pie filling into a greased baking dish.
  • In a big mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk them together until well blended.
  • Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix well until smooth.
  • Carefully pour the batter over the cherry filling in the baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle a little cinnamon on top before baking. Serve with fresh whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
