Ingredients
  

For the shrimp

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the freshly peeled and deveined shrimp.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, fresh lemon juice, minced garlic, and lemon zest. If desired, add the red pepper flakes.
  • Pour the lemon butter mixture over the shrimp and coat them well.
  • Transfer the shrimp to a baking dish and arrange in a single layer.

Cooking

  • Bake the shrimp in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes until they turn pink and curl slightly.
  • Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
  • Serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra citrusy kick.

Notes

For even crispier shrimp, broil for a minute or two after baking. Serve with garlic bread or over rice.
