Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cut the potatoes into thick sticks and toss them with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until coated.
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  • Spread the seasoned fries on a baking sheet in a single layer.

Baking

  • Bake the fries for 25 to 30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.

Making the Cheese Sauce

  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer while stirring occasionally.
  • Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  • Season the cheese sauce with salt and black pepper.

Cooking the Bacon

  • Cook the bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, then chop into bits.

Assembly

  • Place the crispy fries on a large plate and drizzle with warm cheese sauce.
  • Top with the crispy bacon pieces and drizzle ranch dressing.
