Ingredients

  • 3 large large potatoes Russet potatoes for crispiness
  • 2 tbsp olive oil Helps coat the fries

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika Adds a smoky flavor

For the Cheese Sauce

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese The gooier, the better!
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Makes cheese sauce creamy
  • 1 tbsp butter Adds richness
  • 1/2 tsp salt To taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper To taste

For Topping

  • 5 slices crispy bacon, chopped Take the fries from good to unforgettable
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing For an extra zing
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley For color and fresh taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper For a little kick

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Cut the large potatoes into fries and toss them with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.

Cooking Fries

  • Spread the coated fries on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Making Cheese Sauce

  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add heavy cream and heat for a minute before gradually stirring in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Crisping Bacon

  • Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, then chop into small pieces.

Assembly

  • Layer the baked fries on a plate, drizzle cheese sauce over, sprinkle with bacon bits, drizzle with ranch dressing, and garnish with parsley and black pepper.

Serving

  • Serve immediately while hot for best flavor.

Notes

For extra crispy fries, soak cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before seasoning. Bake on a parchment-lined sheet, and always flip halfway through.
