Ingredients
  

Meat and Dairy

  • 2 pounds Ground beef
  • 1 pound Cooked bacon, cut into pieces Ensure bacon is crispy for better flavor.
  • 8 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Heavy whipping cream Can substitute with half-and-half or whole milk.
  • 12 ounces Shredded Cheddar cheese, divided Use 8 oz for the mixture and 4 oz for topping.

Seasonings

  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Fresh garlic recommended for better flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground black pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef with minced garlic and onion powder over medium-high heat until browned and crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Drain and discard any excess grease from the beef.

Assembly

  • Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly in a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish, then sprinkle the cooked bacon pieces on top.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy whipping cream, salt, and ground black pepper until well combined. Stir in 8 ounces of Cheddar cheese.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the beef and bacon in the casserole dish, ensuring all meat is covered.
  • Sprinkle the remaining 4 ounces of shredded Cheddar cheese on top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 to 35 minutes, until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For an extra crispy top, broil the casserole for a few minutes at the end. Consider adding sautéed veggies or a dash of hot sauce to the egg mixture for added flavor.
