  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour Base for the muffin structure.
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder Leavening agent for the muffins.
  • 1/2 tsp Salt Enhances flavor.
  • 1 cup Sugar Adds sweetness.
  • 2 pieces Eggs Bind the ingredients together.
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder For the chocolate swirl.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract Adds depth of flavor.

Optional Add-ins

  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips For extra chocolate flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Nuts (walnuts or pecans) Add for a crunchy texture.
  • 1 tbsp Peanut Butter For a unique twist.
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon To warm up the flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  • In a large bowl, mash the overripe bananas using a fork or potato masher.
  • Add the sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and mix well.
  • In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

Batter Swirling

  • Divide the batter, adding cocoa powder to half of it and mixing until fully incorporated.
  • Spoon both the plain and chocolate batter into the muffin cups in small dollops.
  • Using a butter knife, gently swirl the two batters together to create the marbled effect.

Baking

  • Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the muffins cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

These muffins freeze well. Cool and wrap them individually for freezer storage. To customize, try different types of chocolate and nuts based on your preference.
