  • 2 tablespoons diced green chiles, chopped super fine Use canned chiles for convenience or fresh ones.
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder Optional, enhances flavor.
  • 3/4 to 1 cup milk Adjust for desired creamy consistency.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust according to preference.

Preparation

  • Get your equipment ready: a good saucepan and a spatula.
  • Place your saucepan over low heat and add in the White American cheese and 3/4 cup of milk. Stir gently as it begins to heat up.
  • Keep stirring until the cheese becomes smooth and creamy.
  • Once the cheese is melted, gently fold in the diced green chiles.
  • Sprinkle in the garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
  • If the dip is too thick, slowly stir in more milk until desired consistency is reached.
  • Serve immediately in a warm dish with tortilla chips.

Notes

Use low heat to melt the cheese gently to avoid a gritty texture. Adjust seasoning as needed. Pairs well with tortilla chips, sliced veggies, or pretzels. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
