  • 1 cup whole milk Adds moisture and richness to the batter.
  • 0.5 cups vegetable oil Keeps the cake moist and gives a tender crumb.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds wonderful aroma and flavor.
  • 1 cup boiling water Helps to create a smooth batter and gives a fudgy texture.

For the fudge sauce

  • 1 cup heavy cream For the luscious chocolate fudge sauce.
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips Melt into the fudge sauce for drizzling.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well mixed.

Batter Preparation

  • Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
  • Gradually pour in the boiling water while stirring. The batter will be thin.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center.

Fudge Sauce Preparation

  • In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it simmers.
  • Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips. Stir until melted and smooth.

Serving

  • Once the cake is done, let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Drizzle the chocolate fudge sauce over the cooled cake.
  • Slice and serve.

Notes

To ensure your cake comes out moist and fudgy, don’t overmix the batter. For a richer flavor, serve with vanilla ice cream or fresh berries.
