  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix Brings fantastic flavor.
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix Adds savory richness.
  • 1 cup pepperoncini peppers Adds a delightful tangy kick.

Serving Options

  • 4 cups mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles For serving, choose any to complement the chicken.

  • to taste fresh herbs like rosemary, parsley, or chives Enhances the aroma and flavor.

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients to save time and keep the cooking process smooth.
  • Preheat your crock pot to ensure it's ready.
  • Place the chicken in the bottom of the crock pot, spread evenly.
  • Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix over the chicken.
  • Add the au jus gravy mix on top of the ranch dressing.
  • Toss in the pepperoncini peppers whole for a surprise flavor.

Cooking

  • Cover the crock pot and set it to low. Cook for 6 to 8 hours.
  • Once cooked and chicken is tender, shred it with forks in the pot, mixing it with the sauce.

Serving

  • Serve the Mississippi Chicken over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For extra moisture, add a splash of chicken broth. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat with added broth to keep moist.
