  • 1 packet Ranch dressing mix
  • 1 packet Au jus gravy mix
  • 6-8 pieces Pepperoncini peppers Adjust to taste.

Preparation

  • Start by preparing the chicken. You can use either chicken breasts or thighs, placing the chicken in the bottom of your crock pot.
  • Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix over the chicken.
  • Add the pepperoncini peppers on top of the chicken.

Cooking

  • Cover your crock pot and set it to low heat. Cook the chicken for about 6 to 8 hours.
  • About half an hour before you plan to serve, shred the chicken with two forks right in the pot, stirring to coat with juices.

Serving

  • Prepare your sides as the chicken finishes cooking.
  • Set the table with warm yeast rolls, green beans, and salad.
  • Serve the Mississippi Chicken over your choice of mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

Notes

For perfect results, use bone-in chicken for moisture, customize pepperoncini for spice level, and add fresh herbs before serving. A splash of lemon juice can brighten flavors.
