  • 1 cup BBQ sauce Use your favorite brand or a homemade version.
  • 6 slices cooked bacon Crumble on top; maple-flavored bacon adds sweetness.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Cheese brings a creamy richness when melted.
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions Adds fresh crunch and a pop of color.
  • to taste none Salt and pepper Essential seasonings for flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil A drizzle for cooking.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, drizzle with olive oil and sear the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Transfer the browned chicken to a baking dish.
  • Drizzle BBQ sauce generously over the chicken.
  • Crumble cooked bacon on top of the BBQ chicken.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the bacon.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • Remove from the oven and garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
  • Serve warm with your favorite sides.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme while cooking the chicken. Leftovers can be used in sandwiches or salads, and can last in the fridge for up to three days.
