  • 1/4 cup Powdered sugar Extra for rolling if desired.
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder Extra for rolling if desired.
  • 1/3 cup Dark rum Use quality rum for best flavor.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients on the kitchen counter.
  • In a food processor, combine chocolate cookie crumbs, chopped nuts, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder. Pulse until blended.
  • Pour in dark rum and pulse until the mixture is moldable.
  • Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more powdered sugar.
  • Roll about a tablespoon of the mixture into a ball, keeping your hands slightly damp.
  • Optionally, roll the balls in additional powdered sugar or cocoa powder.
  • Place the rolled balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
  • Once chilled, the rum balls are ready to be enjoyed.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Allow them to come to room temperature before serving.
