Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and yeast.
  • Stir in the warm water until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours.

Baking

  • After the dough has risen, preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • Place a Dutch oven in the oven to heat for 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, turn the dough out onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball.
  • Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven and place the dough inside.
  • Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let it cool before slicing.

Notes

To keep your No Knead Bread fresh, store it in a bread box or wrap it in a clean kitchen towel. You can also place it in a paper bag to maintain its crusty exterior. For longer storage, consider slicing it and freezing the pieces in a zip-lock bag. You can add herbs, cheese, or olives for different flavors. Experiment by adding nuts or seeds for extra texture.
