Ingredients

For the cookie dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened This is the base of your cookies, making them rich and flavorful.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Adds moisture and a deep caramel flavor.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Provides sweetness and helps the cookies spread nicely.
  • 2 large eggs Binds everything together and adds a lovely texture.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract A must for that classic cookie flavor.
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Gives structure to the cookies.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Helps the cookies rise and become fluffy.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Adds a warm, cozy spice that complements the oats and raisins beautifully.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances all the flavors.
  • 3 cups old-fashioned oats The star of the show, giving the cookies that chewy texture we all love.
  • 1 cup raisins Sweet bites that give these cookies character.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until nice and smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Gradually stir this dry mixture into your wet ingredients until well combined.
  • Fold in the old-fashioned oats and raisins.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized dollops of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each dollop.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are beautifully golden.
  • Let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For added texture, consider using a mix of raisins and chocolate chips! Don’t overbake; you want them to be soft in the center for that perfect chew. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container at room temperature.
