Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups blackberries (fresh or frozen)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and pour the melted butter into an 8x8 dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, milk, and vanilla. Pour this mixture over the melted butter in the dish.
  • Top the batter with the blackberries and sprinkle any remaining sugar over them.

Baking

  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, until the cobbler is bubbly and golden brown.

Serving

  • Serve warm, preferably with ice cream or whipped cream for a delightful treat!

Notes

Use fresh blackberries for the best flavor, but frozen ones work well too. Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving to allow the juices to settle. Experiment with adding spices like cinnamon or nutmeg for a different taste. If you prefer a sweeter dessert, add more sugar to the batter or sprinkle more on top of the blackberries.
