Filling Ingredients

  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Crust

  • 1 pie crust pie crust Use homemade or store-bought.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a saucepan, combine raisins and water. Cook over medium heat until the raisins are plump.
  • In a separate bowl, mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Add this mixture to the raisin mixture and stir well.
  • Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
  • Pour the filling into the pie crust.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  • Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Serve at room temperature or warmed up. Goes well with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store in the refrigerator for up to five days or freeze for longer storage.
