  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Cooking

  • In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned.
  • Add diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
  • Stir in the pasta and chicken broth, bringing to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and let simmer until pasta is cooked.
  • Stir in heavy cream and shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  • Season with salt and pepper, then garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve hot, garnished with extra cheese or fresh parsley. Pairs well with salad or crusty bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 4 days.
