Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old and cold) Use day-old rice for the best texture.
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (like carrots and peas) Feel free to customize based on preference.

Seasonings

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • for frying as needed vegetable oil Use for cooking.

Preparation

  • Prepare the rice: Use cold, day-old rice for the best results.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  • Once the beef is cooked, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is soft and fragrant.
  • Stir in the mixed vegetables and cook for a few minutes until they are tender but still crisp.
  • Add the cold, cooked rice to the skillet and mix it well with the beef and vegetables.
  • Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Stir to coat the rice evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot, garnished with green onions or cilantro if desired.

Notes

If you have leftovers, allow the fried rice to cool completely before storing it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Can be frozen for up to a month.
