Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef Make sure to cook until well-browned.
  • 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced Sauté until soft and golden.
  • 2 tbsp butter For sautéing the onions.
  • 2 tbsp flour For thickening the gravy.
  • 1.5 cups beef broth Adjust the amount for desired thickness.
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups cooked white rice Can substitute with brown rice.
  • Dried parsley (for garnish) Adds color and flavor.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Beef

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.

Sautéing the Onions

  • In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onions until soft and golden, about 8–10 minutes.

Making the Gravy

  • Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  • Slowly whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer until thickened.

Combining Ingredients

  • Return ground beef to the pan and simmer in the gravy for 5 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper.

Serving

  • Spoon over warm cooked rice and garnish with parsley.

Notes

This casserole is best served warm. Pair with a simple green salad or steamed vegetables for freshness. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat thoroughly before serving again. You can also add bell peppers, peas, or mushrooms for extra nutrition, or substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
