Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 1 pound Chicken Breast Cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup Cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 large Egg Whisked
  • 1 cup Oil for frying Enough for deep frying

For the Sauce

  • 1 cup Orange Juice Freshly squeezed recommended
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Sugar Adjust sweetness to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Grated Ginger
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • to taste Crushed Red Pepper

For Garnish

  • to taste Green Onions Sliced for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Prepare the chicken by cutting it into bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
  • Set up your breading station with cornstarch, flour, and a whisked egg.
  • Coat each piece of chicken with egg and then with the flour mixture.
  • In a deep pan, heat about 1 cup of oil over medium heat until ready for frying.

Cooking

  • Carefully drop breaded chicken pieces into the hot oil, working in batches if necessary.
  • Fry until golden brown, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Remove the chicken and drain on paper towels.
  • In a saucepan, mix together orange juice, soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, and crushed red pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  • Let the sauce thicken for about 5 minutes.
  • Combine the crispy chicken with the sauce, tossing until well coated.
  • Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding fresh herbs like cilantro at the end. Adjust sweetness and tanginess to preference.
