Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package Oreo cookies The star of the show! Their rich, chocolatey flavor is what makes these truffles irresistible.
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened) This creamy goodness is what binds the crushed Oreos into a wonderful mixture.
  • 8 oz white chocolate (for dipping) Adds a delightful sweetness and beautiful contrast against the dark Oreo crumbs.
  • 8 oz dark chocolate (for dipping) This adds a rich flavor that balances the sweetness.
  • Chopped nuts or crushed Oreos (for topping) These are optional, but they add a fun crunch and a pretty finish!

Instructions

Preparation

  • Crush the Oreos: Start by placing the entire package of Oreo cookies into a food processor. If you don't have one, a zip-top bag and a rolling pin work just as well! Crush them until they become fine crumbs.
  • Mix with Cream Cheese: In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese. Use your hands to mix it well until it forms a moldable dough.
  • Roll into Balls: Scoop out small portions of the mixture and roll them into balls, about 1 inch in size. A small cookie scoop works wonders for uniformity.
  • Chill the Balls: Place the rolled truffles onto a lined baking sheet and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  • Melt the Chocolate: Melt your white and dark chocolates in separate bowls in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  • Dip the Chilled Truffles: Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, allowing the excess to drip off, and place them back onto the baking sheet.
  • Decorate: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the tops with chopped nuts or more crushed Oreos.
  • Let Set: Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or refrigerate for a bit longer until firm.
  • Enjoy: Serve the truffles to your family or store them in an airtight container.

Notes

For perfect results, ensure your bowls and utensils are completely dry to prevent seizing the chocolate. You can add coconut oil to thinned chocolate if too thick, and try flavored chocolates for variety!
