Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Butter a baking dish and layer in the sliced bread.
  • Whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and spices.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the layered bread.
  • Cover the dish and refrigerate it overnight.

Baking

  • The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Bake the dish for 35-40 minutes.
  • Sprinkle some extra sugar on top and broil for a few minutes for a crispy finish.
