Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 29 ounces peach slices in juice Use canned peaches in juice for extra moisture.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Feel free to adjust based on preference.
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg Can be omitted if desired.
  • 18-25 ounces yellow cake mix A standard box mix will work.
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar Adds sweetness and texture.
  • 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into thinly sliced pats For topping the cake.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Spray a 9 x 13 casserole dish with nonstick spray.
  • Add the peaches and all of the juice to the bottom of the dish.
  • Pour in the vanilla extract, nutmeg, and cinnamon, then gently stir everything together.
  • Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the peach mixture.
  • Using a wooden spoon, gently mix the cake mix into the juice to moisten it.
  • Evenly sprinkle the brown sugar over the moistened cake mix.
  • Distribute the butter pats evenly on top of the cake.

Baking

  • Place the dump cake in the oven uncovered and bake for 45-55 minutes.
  • Once done, it will have a deep golden brown color and appear crispy on top with a fluffy inside.
  • Allow to cool for 15 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Best served warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
