Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup Peanut Butter Natural peanut butter is recommended for best flavor.
  • 1 cup Sugar Can substitute with honey or maple syrup, adjusting other liquid ingredients.
  • 1 large Egg Use at room temperature for better mixing.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda Can substitute with baking powder but texture may vary.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine peanut butter, sugar, egg, baking soda, salt, and vanilla extract.
  • Stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  • Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and place them on an ungreased baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  • Use a fork to flatten each ball and create a crisscross pattern.

Baking

  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon to the dough. Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature. Reheat in the microwave for a few seconds for softness.
