  • 12 slices American cheese Cuts really well and melts nicely.

Frying Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Vegetable oil for frying Ensure it’s hot enough for frying.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Brown the Beef: Start by heating a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook for about 5 to 7 minutes until browned.
  • Season the Meat: Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper gently to combine.
  • Remove from Heat: Take the beef mixture out of the skillet and set aside to cool.
  • Sauté the Veggies: In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the chopped onion and bell pepper for about 5 to 7 minutes until browned.
  • Combine the Fillings: Return the beef mixture to the skillet and mix well.
  • Cool the Filling: Allow the filling to cool for easier handling.

Wrapping

  • Prepare the Wrappers: Lay out the egg roll wrappers on a clean surface.
  • Add Cheese: Place half a slice of American cheese in the center of each wrapper.
  • Fill the Wrappers: Scoop about 3 tablespoons of the filling onto each wrapper on top of the cheese.
  • Roll Them Up: Fold the bottom left corner over the filling, tuck in the sides, moisten edges with water, and roll tightly.

Cooking

  • Heat the Oil: In a large saucepan, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the Egg Rolls: Add 3 to 4 egg rolls at a time into the hot oil and fry for about 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Notes

For extra crispy egg rolls, consider adding a little cornstarch to the beef mixture. Serve fresh with dipping sauces like marinara, ranch, or spicy mustard.
