Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 piece pre-cooked ham (bone-in or boneless), about 8-10 pounds Bone-in ham tends to be juicier and full of flavor.
  • 1 cup pineapple juice Can be swapped for fresh juice or crushed pineapple.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Helps caramelize the glaze for a sticky finish.
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard Adds tanginess to balance the sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup honey Enhances sweetness and helps the glaze stick.
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves Brings a warm, aromatic flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Remove the ham from its packaging and place it in a roasting pan with the bone facing down.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine pineapple juice, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, honey, and ground cloves, whisking until blended.
  • Brush the glaze over the ham, ensuring to cover all nooks and crannies.
  • Cover the ham loosely with foil and place it in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
  • Baste the ham every 30 minutes with the juices from the pan.
  • Remove the foil 30 minutes before the end of cooking time.
  • Once cooked, let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
  • Slice and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

For perfect results, choose a bone-in ham for juiciness, baste regularly to keep the meat moist, and feel free to customize the glaze with additional spices.
