Sandwich Base

  • 8 slices Rye bread The heart and soul of the sandwich.
  • 8 oz Turkey slices Hearty and flavorful.
  • 1 cup Coleslaw Adds crunch and tang.
  • 4 oz Swiss cheese Melty and creamy; Gruyère can also be used.
  • 4 Tbsp Russian or Thousand Island dressing Brings everything together.
  • 2 Tbsp Butter For grilling.

Preparation

  • Gather your ingredients: Make sure you have everything ready to go.
  • Butter the bread: Spread butter on one side of each slice.
  • Layer the fillings: On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer turkey slices, coleslaw, and then Swiss cheese.
  • Dress it up: Spread the dressing on the unbuttered side of another slice.
  • Assemble the sandwich: Place the slice with dressing on top of the one with filling, buttered side facing out.

Cooking

  • Heat your skillet over medium heat.
  • Grill the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden-brown, then flip and grill the other side.
  • Cover the skillet for the last minute to melt the cheese.
  • Slice and serve warm.

Notes

Make sure not to rush the grilling process to achieve perfect browning. Customize ingredients for a personal touch.
