  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Use a rich and moist chocolate cake mix for best results.
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil Can substitute with melted butter for richer flavor.
  • 2 large eggs Essential for binding and texture.

Mix-ins

  • 1 cup Rolo candies, chopped These add a delightful surprise to each cookie.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Semi-sweet chips balance the sweets; can use milk chocolate if preferred.
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) Use walnuts or pecans for added crunch or omit for a nut-free cookie.

Finishing Touch

  • to taste none Powdered sugar for dusting Optional, for a pretty finish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined.
  • Fold in the chopped Rolo candies and chocolate chips. If using nuts, add those as well.
  • Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, keeping them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set and centers remain soft.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  • Just before serving, dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

For chewier cookies, consider chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking. You can also try swapping Rolo candies for other types of chocolate-covered candies.
