Ingredients
  

For the stuffing

  • 1 pound Sausage Any type of sausage can be used.
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks Celery, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 8 cups Bread cubes
  • 3 to 4 cups Chicken broth Add until the mixture is moistened but not soggy.
  • To taste Salt and pepper Season according to preference.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, add the sausage over medium heat. Cook until beautifully browned.
  • Remove the sausage from the skillet, keeping the drippings. Sauté the chopped onion and celery in the drippings for about 5 minutes until soft.
  • Sprinkle in the dried sage and thyme into the skillet and stir well.
  • In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes and add the cooked sausage mixture. Toss everything together.
  • Gradually pour in the chicken broth, mixing until the bread is moistened.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading evenly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes until the top is golden brown and crunchy.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Consider adding fresh herbs like rosemary for enhanced aroma and flavor. This dish can also be made ahead of time, and it’s perfect for leftovers.
